Island Images - The Isle of Man in Pictures

This 50 foot diameter waterwheel was built in 1865 for the Snaefell Mine, further up the valley from Laxey.  In 1908 it was sold and moved to Cornwall, but returned to the island in 2003 and was rebuilt here by the Laxey Mines Research Group.
